We’re migrating Hoyden Major this week (UPDATE: all done!)

  1. oh, ugh, ugh, ugh

and the last bit, too – don’t put yourself in that position. How about telling the men not to put trainees in that position? grrrr

In the comments, there are people twisting themselves in knots trying to argue that Paul REALLY meant both partners submit to each other. Or somehow.
There’s a lovely response to an MRA misogynist. Paraphrase: you’re still pretty bitter about your personal experience, it’s preventing you from contributing coherently to discussion.
I wish I could be so nice.
There’s also a woman saying she chose a husband she wouldn’t mind submitting to. Good theory, too bad people CHANGE over the years.

I’m guessing that male headship doesn’t get a lot of air time in the Uniting churches where women are the vicars.

  3. I’ve been reading the comments about Dr. McMullin’s advice to her students at Pharyngula.
One of the things that makes me so angry about this; young women have to be martyrs to affect any change.
I see why McMullin isn’t telling them to do that – but I really wish she was handing out cans of pepper spray to her students.
That scene in ‘Tootsie’, where Dorothy gets on the phone and orders cattle prods for all the women who work in the hospital. This is what is required.
