I don’t know quite how my son managed this, taken a few hours ago (because he’s very keen on lolcats and wants to submit photos of our cat to I Can Has Cheezburger? for glory’s sake).

I first saw this story from Zenobia, then Jess McCabe added to it, and then Twisty got a hold of it and spanked it. I have little to add to their words, but I thought that what the story really needed was a photo essay.
Short version: an airline is putting together a special “shopping flight” from Liverpool to Paris. For women only, of course, ‘cos affluent men aren’t into conspicuous consumption at all, just sitting there with their cigars and handmade suits and sports cars nodding indulgently at the silly women addicted to spendspendspending.
So what has the airline’s brilliant, creative, innovative marketing department come up with? Well, we ladies just can’t get enough pink, right? So, they’re touting a plane travel experience that is pinkalicious from the tip of its tail to the bottom of it’s luggage bays.
NB. Artist impression of new airline livery, not actual airline livery

This photo from Flickr is a find from the WOW! images pool (any image that elicits a WOW! comment), and is here purely to provide a soothing contrast with the picture in the previous post. Besides, I haven’t been doing a Friday Fluffy of late. Slacko. I’ll do a links round up below the photo too.

I also discovered that Flickr now has a Feathery Friday photo pool and a Furry Friday photo pool. I thought I invented Friday Furry! (mind you, the alliteration is a tad obvious, so I guess lots of peeps would come up with the same).

But ohmykozy reminded me when we went on a photography expedition the other day. I meant to blog these “why, no gender stereotypes here at all, no way, nuh-uh” WC signs that we came across on an earlier cinema expedition:

We are back from five days up in Jurien Bay. What did I miss?
Heading North for the winter is definitely a Good Thing. We went with two friends and their daughters. The kids got along just fine, and had a ball.
I’m in fairly serious spoon deficit, so I might not be doing much in the way of wordy, thoughtful blogging for a few days. But I do have – photos!
The Jurien Bay caravan park advertises a Giant Jumping Pillow, which was, indeed, as we found when we got there, a Giant Jumping Pillow. The small people loved it. In our debrief today, the Lad was unhesitating in his assessment of the Giant Jumping Pillow (or, as he put it, the “GIANT JUMPING PILLOW!!!!!”) as the highlight of his holiday.

More after the cut.

Winter sunrises in Sydney often have interesting light patterns against the morning clouds. This morning we got classic crepuscular rays. The depth of shadow cast across the sky was extraordinary. There’s a few more shots in my Flickr photostream, and I might try and put a montage together of the full effect.
